Buvette Pacey is a charming bar/cafe nestled in Toronto’s bustling district, blending a cozy neighbourhood vibe with a distinctive Montreal flair. The owner's beloved dog, Pacey, not only serves as the café mascot but is also a central feature in its unique logo design.

As a graphic designer tasked with capturing the essence of Buvette Pacey, a quaint bar/cafe infused with Montreal flair, the challenge was to reflect its warm, local vibe while infusing elements of refined whimsy into the brand identity. The design brief was clear: integrate Pacey, the owner's dog and the heart of the café's charm, into a logo that could anchor the brand across various mediums.
To achieve this, I developed a cartoon motif of Pacey, simplified to ensure versatility and recognizability at any size—from storefront signage to online avatars. This playful depiction of Pacey complements the cafe's friendly atmosphere, where the clinking of glasses mixes with the pitter-patter of furry feet. Alongside the mascot, a soft, handwritten typeface was selected to serve as a standalone typemark, adding a personal touch to everything from menu headers to promotional materials.
